Example

So this week and next week Tommy and I are living at Brad and Ashley's house (bro/sis-in-law) and we are watching Magnum while they are on a cruise. Lucky them I know! Anyway, last night Mags and I were driving to get dinner and we were coming up on the temple so I asked mags if he knew who went to the temple. The first thing that came out of his mouth, very enthusiastically, was me! He said it like it was a "duh Sophie" answer. It made me smile and think of how much of an example my 3 year old nephew was being to me with out even knowing! I feel like this needs to be my attitude about tending the temple and that I need to get myself to the temple more often. I am truly grateful for the temple and the blessings it provides for my little family. I love that Tommy and I were married in the temple for time and all eternity!! The church is so true and I am thankful for my little Magnum and his amazing spirit!

Growing Up

Today I am feeling grown up/old. It used to be that on conference Saturday we would all be up on time because my mom wouldn't let us sleep to late to miss the session and then we would either have conference blasting while we cleaned the house or while we were doing yard work.

Today I got up at 8:45 and then started working on stuff for our Relief Society activity in October (which will be awesome) because I am on the committee and have quite a few assignments for this activity. After working on that for about an hour and deciding that maybe I will go do the rest of one of my assignments in between sessions while probably picking up lunch for me and my hubby, I am looking at blogs and pinterest just waiting for conference to start. I feel grown up today.

I also need to clean my house today but I don't really want to because it's the stuff that I don't really like. I need to do one more load of laundry and fold/put away three loads of laundry, mop my floors, and clean my bathroom, and put away my clean dishes. Tommy also just pointed out that there isn't really anything I like cleaning.

My couch is probably the most uncomfortable couch ever. It does however fit perfectly in my small house. I have been thinking about finding a new couch so I have been looking on KSL (you honestly can find just about anything on there) and I have found a couple of couches that I really like but I'm not sure if they will fit my house. I can actually think about getting a new couch if I find it for the right price because on Thursday my sister Libby and I are catering a wedding so there will be a little extra money in the bank. Oh decisions decisions.

I obviously haven't written in a long time hence the long post.

It's getting to be my favorite time of year. FALL. I love it for several reasons.
1: My BIRTHDAY (November 13)
2: We get ready for Festival of Trees
3: the colors of the season
4: Conference
5: Pumpkin flavored stuff
6: It reminds me of my Grandpa Jay
7: so much family time
there are more but I can't think of them right now.

Tommy is going into Optometry for his profession. In the past week we have been talking about our future in terms of his schooling. He has 2 1/2 years left at BYU and then we will have to move out of state for grad school. Our parents are not to excited about this. This week we found out that there are only 20 Optometry schools in the United States. The closest to Utah is in Arizona then California and the only other one on the west coast is Oregon. I am hoping we can go back east because it is beautiful back there and we have my amazing Aunt and Uncle Holly and Josh and their fun kids, and maybe even Kira and Tony and their fun kids will still be back there. (I know Wendy you are saying no no no :)). I know that 2 1/2 years is a long time but it still is crazy and makes me feel old and grown up.

Okay I think this post is long enough :)

sing like no one is listening

I don't know if you know this but I sing and I like it a lot. I used to sing all the time and was pretty good but then I graduated high school and then dropped out of college so I haven't truly sung in a long time. Then I was asked to be a memeber of the enrichment board in my ward to be in charge of the music. May was the first month I was helping with the activity and needed a fun muical number to go with our girls night theme. I decided it would be fun if I sang with my little sister Maddie. Let me tell you this friends, if you haven't heard her sing you are MISSING OUT!! She is seriously incredible!!! Anyway we sang through a bunch of broadway duets for girls and decided to sing "Some Things are Meant to Be" from Little Wemon. This was a fun song to sing because it has some fun lyrics. If you haven't heard it you should go look it up on you tube. It was so fun practicing it with Maddie in her room even though we ended up just laughing through it most of the times. I am really thankful I had that fun opportunity to sing with her even though once we were about to sing we looked at each other and said I'm going to puke! (from the nerves of course). Well friends I think that is about it for today, I will try to be better and post more often, thanks for reading!

There are a total of 6 people that work at the store so I already know everyone which is awesome! We have so many cute fun things it's actually kind of dangerous because I see things I want everyday especially when we get shipments in! I have already bought some stuff there, a super cute planner that is very helpful and I also got wrapping paper that is very cute it's a kraft paper that has green and brown leafs and stuff I super love it, I also bought a spool of brown tool to do bows for gifts because lets be honest it's much cuter and easier! Day 5

What is my definition of love? I think sometimes we think of love as some big complicated thing. It may be to some people but to me it is simple. It is losing yourself in someone and trusting them to always be there. It's finding happiness even when days are long and hard. The thought that comes to mind is a quote from one of my favorite movies the wedding planner....
"Love is just Love".

Day 3-My parentals

My parents aren't like any other! I love them both and they are dear to me :)
My dad's name is Boyd C. Hall and he has been a great dad. One of my favorite memories with my dad is ironically from a funeral. We sung Amazing Grace together while my mom played the piano. Singing together is one of my favorite memores with my dad. Even though I'm all married now he still watches out and takes care of me. This last weeking I was sick and my dad brought over a giant pot of homemade chicken noodle soup and rolls. He also brought me medicine and checked up wtih me almost everyday after to make sure I was getting better :) We have had our hard times but I will still and always love him!

My mom's name is Debra Batty Hall. She is my hero. She is strong when she doesn't think she is and she is a light to all those around her. My mom taught me the gosple and also how to always love it even when it's hard. She taught me who I am today and also taught me how important it is to forgive. She is a fabulous friend, an amazing musician, and a leader. One of my favorite moments with my mom is when we spent time together writing music. My mom and I have written two songs together. The time we spent together working on something we both loved was something I will love for the rest of my life. We learned about each other and developed our love of music together.
