Growing Up

Today I am feeling grown up/old. It used to be that on conference Saturday we would all be up on time because my mom wouldn't let us sleep to late to miss the session and then we would either have conference blasting while we cleaned the house or while we were doing yard work.

Today I got up at 8:45 and then started working on stuff for our Relief Society activity in October (which will be awesome) because I am on the committee and have quite a few assignments for this activity. After working on that for about an hour and deciding that maybe I will go do the rest of one of my assignments in between sessions while probably picking up lunch for me and my hubby, I am looking at blogs and pinterest just waiting for conference to start. I feel grown up today.

I also need to clean my house today but I don't really want to because it's the stuff that I don't really like. I need to do one more load of laundry and fold/put away three loads of laundry, mop my floors, and clean my bathroom, and put away my clean dishes. Tommy also just pointed out that there isn't really anything I like cleaning.

My couch is probably the most uncomfortable couch ever. It does however fit perfectly in my small house. I have been thinking about finding a new couch so I have been looking on KSL (you honestly can find just about anything on there) and I have found a couple of couches that I really like but I'm not sure if they will fit my house. I can actually think about getting a new couch if I find it for the right price because on Thursday my sister Libby and I are catering a wedding so there will be a little extra money in the bank. Oh decisions decisions.

I obviously haven't written in a long time hence the long post.

It's getting to be my favorite time of year. FALL. I love it for several reasons.
1: My BIRTHDAY (November 13)
2: We get ready for Festival of Trees
3: the colors of the season
4: Conference
5: Pumpkin flavored stuff
6: It reminds me of my Grandpa Jay
7: so much family time
there are more but I can't think of them right now.

Tommy is going into Optometry for his profession. In the past week we have been talking about our future in terms of his schooling. He has 2 1/2 years left at BYU and then we will have to move out of state for grad school. Our parents are not to excited about this. This week we found out that there are only 20 Optometry schools in the United States. The closest to Utah is in Arizona then California and the only other one on the west coast is Oregon. I am hoping we can go back east because it is beautiful back there and we have my amazing Aunt and Uncle Holly and Josh and their fun kids, and maybe even Kira and Tony and their fun kids will still be back there. (I know Wendy you are saying no no no :)). I know that 2 1/2 years is a long time but it still is crazy and makes me feel old and grown up.

Okay I think this post is long enough :)

  1. dooo it!! (sorry Ma) Back east is awesome! I love it! I don't plan on being here the rest of my life, but it's been the coolest experience ever! It has made our family a stronger family, and given me a new perspective on a non-lds dominant place. It's been awesome, and I'm guessing you guys would like it too. :) We'll be here another 4 years (at least that's the plan so far), so come on out ;)
